China Praised for Economic Support

Leader of the Nepali Congress Party, Former DPM/FM and Head of the International Department Hon. Sujata Koirala and the visiting Vice Chairman of CICIR (China Institute of Contemporary International Relations) Mr Yang Mingjie on Friday called on Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at latter's official residence in Baluwatar.

The meeting focused on national relations existing between Nepal and China, bilateral support and Nepal's constitution making process. On the occasion, PM Koirala underlined the ultra harmonious relations between Nepal and China. PM Koirala praised Chinese economic and technical support in Nepal's physical and social infrastructure as construction of roadway, airport and hospitals.

Furthermore, the PM said after a six decade long struggle, Nepal was striving for economic prosperity and development in the backdrop of peace and political stability by institutionalizing the achievements of federalism, republic and inclusive democracy in the constitution to be delivered from the constituent assembly.

In the meeting, Vice Chairman Yang said peace and stability were necessary components of development, and expressed belief that Nepal would gain a new constitution under the government led by PM Koirala. The two also discussed marking the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China next year. The meeting was also attended by the PM's Foreign Advisor Dr. Dinesh Bhattarai and other members of the CICIR delegation. President of the China Study Center, Mr Madan Regmi and other officials of the center and GP Koirala Foundation were also present on the occasion.
