Koirala participates in high level political meeting in China

Nepali Congress leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Madam Sujata Koirala participated in the high level political meeting in China
during November 30 to 3rd December 2017. The meeting called "The CPC Dialogue with World Political Parties" was attended by over 200 political parties and political organizations from over 120 countries. The meeting with the theme "Working together towards a community with a shared future for mankind and a better world: Responsibilities of Political Parties" was hosted by the international department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC). The conference was of special importance as the key note address was delivered by the President of China Mr. Xi Jinping. On the occasion, President Xi Jinping told that China is practicing socialism of Chinese characteristics and it would not be necessary that other countries should do the same thing. Other countries have their own peculiarities and conditions. They can choose their own political system according to their needs. China has nothing do on such choices of other countries. However, the President Xi Jinping told that China wants all political parties of many countries sit together to discuss common challenges of development and prosperity. All needs to be united to overcome the challenges of development in the globalized world.

Speaking on the occasion, Madam Koirala said that no nation can live in isolation in this global village as this world is increasingly interconnected and interdependent. She also mentioned that Nepal has joined the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding. Madam Koirala further said that Nepali Congress is also a socialist party and Nepali Congress believes on a democratic socialism of our own kind. We should be together for the common goal of beautiful, peaceful and happy world. We need to uphold political, social and cultural system of our own.
