Leader Koirala Urges Unity among Party Troika

BHAIRAHAWA:
Nepali Congress leader Sujata Koirala has urged the leader trio- party president Sushil Koirala, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and vice-president Ram Chandra Poudel- to strengthen the party through consensus. Saying that she wants to see the stability in the party, she has called for the cooperation and unity of the top-notches. The top three leaders should work with a unity for the party interest, said Koirala speaking at Lumbini zonal level training of trainers and Mechi-Mahakali Awareness Campaign in Bhairahawa organized by Central Policy and Training Academy of the party. Party president Koirala, leader Deuba and vice president Poudel including two dozen other central committee members and lawmakers were also present in the program. “The leaders should move ahead with utmost unity between three leaders, and all the cadres are ready to lend their support for them,” she said.

Signaling towards some comments of the party leaders against the party president Koirala-led government, she said that one and all should support the party president for the stability of the government. “There is no any alternative of the party president led government so we should work toward making this government more strong,” she said.

She also reiterated her stance of early local government polls. “The local level democracy has become feeble due to the absence of people elected representatives. The democratic exercise has become weak and the corruption has prevailed in the local bodies. Local level election as soon as possible is urgent now for the development at the grass-root level,” she said.
