Former Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala has said that the Constitution should be developed through due process if there is lack of consensus among the political parties. Talking to journalists in the G. P. Foundation in Biratnagar she said that there is no other option but to develop the Constitution through the process if there is no consensus among the political parties. She emphasized that the country cannot be put on hold for a long period in the name of garnering absolute consensus. Leader Koirala, who has also hold the position of Chief of Foreign Department of the Nepali Congress, said that if there is no consensus despite the Prime Minister’s utmost efforts of running around to gather consensus to develop the Constitution, there is no other way but to choose the due process. She also made it very clear that the Constitution can only be developed by the present Prime Minister Sushil Koirala led government.
